Some time ago I overheard opticians telling patients with some vision plans, “you are not eligible for a frame this year but we can update your lenses.” We decided to reword that as “this year you have wonderful benefits with 20% off your frame and an allowance for your lenses.” (Since VSP patients receive a 20% discount even in the year that they aren’t “eligible” for a frame.)
