Alan Cleinman founded Cleinman in 1989, leveraging decades of experience across multiple facets of the optometry business. His goal was simple: give practice owners a better perspective on running their business and help them achieve better results. Under Al’s leadership, the company grew by offering unique services, specialized knowledge, and customized solutions, while developing strong, trust-based relationships.
Over the years, Cleinman has empowered private practice owners to become stronger leaders, enhance their financial acumen, improve operational efficiency, and develop high-performing teams. Today, the Cleinman team continues to provide personalized consulting, data-driven insights, transformational wisdom sharing, and comprehensive practice transition services.
Our flagship program, Cleinman Performance NetworkSM, is a North American membership group for distinguished private optometry practices. Through this community, clients gain access to peer-to-peer learning, accountability, and collaboration that strengthen both their professional and personal growth.
In 2025, Cleinman entered a new chapter through its acquisition by POD Marketing, the parent company of Marketing4ECPs. This partnership united 2 leaders in optometric growth and innovation, combining Cleinman’s decades of experience in practice development with Marketing4ECPs’ expertise in digital marketing and strategy.
